On Wednesday November 4th,  many of the Scouts of Oakville demonstrated their Scouting skills during the annual Oakville "Amazing Race - Scout Edition", held in the Bronte area. Eleven Patrols braved the rain and the cool weather to follow their route directions with compasses and their observational skills. They found the "checkpoints" and "road blocks" along the route. There were not scared looking for clues in the local cemetery, and they concluded the "Race" at Walton Memorial United Church with hot chocolate and timbits.  

This year's winning Patrol was the 1st Bronte Dragons; Second place was the 19th Oakville Rascals and Third Place was the 1st Bronte Moose.

Thanks goes to 1st Bronte for hosting the "Race" this year (last year's winners). Since Troop's don't host the "Race" two years in a row, we are looking forward to 19th Oakville hosting the event next year on Tuesday November 2nd, 2010 in the River Oaks area. Thanks goes to the organizing team, Scouters, Darrell, Dave & Mark (1st Bronte), along with Scouters Bruce & Denise (1st Trafalgar). And on the night of the Race, the team from 1st Bronte along with Scouter Godwin (our computer wiz) and the Venturers from 2nd Glen Abbey and 1st Glen Abbey. Also a special thanks to Venturer David LaRue (2nd Glen Abbey) for designing the route this year.
